Baitus Salam
This temporary shelter for Asnaf Muallaf operates as a community centre for them to reorganise the life direction of a convert upon embracing Islam or when something untoward has happened to him/her. It aims to transform the welfare of Muallaf in Selangor.
Objective Baitus Salam
- In accordance with Part V of the Registration, Care and Teaching for Muallafs (State of Selangor) Regulations 2009
- Acts as a shelter for Muallaf who have been shunned by their family/relatives after embracing Islam
- To protect Muallaf from external threats including from their families
- Acts as a short-term Fardhu Ain guidance centre for Muallaf
- Provide vocational knowledge to better their socioeconomic situation
- A place to reorganise themselves emotionally and socially for a better life ahead
- To preserve his/her Akidah from being distorted by any other parties
What are the eligibility requirements of Baitus Salam?
- A citizen of Malaysia
- Attend the programmes/activities/lectures at Baitis Salam on a full-time basis for 1 year
- Within the maximum period of 5 years whereby newly converted brothers and sisters are called Muallaf, as per Section 47 of the Administration of the Religion of Islam (State of Selangor) Enactment 2003
- Of good health and free of contagious diseases such as AIDS and addiction to drugs and/or alcohol
- No serious mental stress issues
- Not subject to any court/criminal matters or proceedings
- Voluntarily applied to join Baitus Salam and prepared to comply to rules and regulations set by its management
